Ministry of Natural Resources and Climate Change officials on Tuesday joined other key stakeholders in a very important workshop held by the Green Climate Fund (GCF) mission to Malawi at the BICC in Lilongwe.
The Malawi - GCF Climate Investment Plan workshop was part of the Green Climate Fund mission to build national capacity in developing bankable proposals for easy access to climate funds from the entity.
The mission is the country following discussions which His Excellency the President, Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera had with Executive Director of the Fund at COP26 in Glasgow in 2021 and at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York last year.
GCF was created to support the efforts of developing countries in responding to the challenge of climate change. The fund was established to limit or reduce greenhouse gas emissions in developing countries and to help vulnerable societies adapt to the unavoidable impacts of climate.
